A Message From The President

Answering the Call to Serve

Transformational Leadership and Exemplary Service

From the Inside Out- OEBAC Deltas Work!

Greetings,

Welcome to the website of the Oakland East Bay Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., chartered on June 30, 1979. We are proud to represent a sisterhood deeply committed to sisterhood, scholarship, public service, and social action.

Founded on January 13, 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization of college educated women committed to the constructive development of its members and to public service with a primary focus on the Black community. As an alumnae chapter, we uphold this mission by making a meaningful impact in the Oakland East Bay and surrounding communities.

Empowering our communities is at the core of our service. We recognize that the strength of our impact lies in our ability to uplift and empower those around us. We strive to be catalysts for positive change by addressing the needs of our communities locally and globally, advocating for social justice, and promoting equity and inclusivity. Through outreach and community partnerships, our efforts provide an extensive array of public service initiatives through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of Educational Development, Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Political and International Awareness and Involvement while aligning with our national priorities:

  • Organizational Health

  • Social Action

  • Community Impact

  • Empowerment of Women and Girls, and

  • Appreciation of Our Culture.

Through this website, we aim to provide valuable insights into our chapter's work, upcoming events, and opportunities for engagement. Whether you are a member of our sorority, a community partner, or someone interested in learning more about our organization, we encourage you to explore the resources available here.

Join us in our mission to effect meaningful change and inspire others to reach their full potential. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those we serve.

Thank you for your support and interest in the Oakland East Bay Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Sincerely,
